A film by Joe Murphy

April 23rd, a little after lunch. 1991. That was the moment Joe Murphy, also known as Joe Peace, decided that he would make something for peace - something connected - like a peace chain. The details weren't clear to him at the time, but he knew that he would make these things, that he would give them away, and that he would do this for the rest of his life. To date, Joe has made close to 500,000 ceramic pendants with the word "peace" in over 90 languages.

i love these i have gotten several of these pendants and love them they are so unique and love the style of them i gotten some from him in Berkly when i was working on a show there and he was at a street fair. These make great gifts to pass on to friends and family if you put on some type of chain or rope or strap of leather is what i used to do i have only a few pieces left and would love to get some more from him.

This is so wonderful. PEACE is such a beautiful word in itself. I strive for PEACE in my life. This is why I try to treat everybody with love and kindness. When you give a gift you shouldn't look for anything in return. However, PEACE is a gift that I give with the intention of receiving it in return. It will make the WORLD a BETTER place to be. PEACE be Upon you Joe Murphy.

Cool _ I just realised. I took the pledge awhile ago and since then I have started writing a YA novel about the creative positive things we already have in this world which can move us towards a eco sound and peaceful future. YA novel and that premis are a bit of a contradiction in terms and I am struggling a bit but it's my be the change.

If we all put this kind of energy into the world, much would heal. Thank you for doing your loving work, Joe.
