Adam Parascandola, a rescue worker for the Humane Society, responded to a call to attend to a puppy mill in North Carolina. Upon entering the premises, he found puppies kept in horrendous conditions with complete disregard for their emotional and physical health. There was a small shed in the puppy mill in which Adam found ' Billy,' a Chihuahua, kept in a rusty, unclean cage. His heart was touched by the plight of this cute animal, and what happened next was an act of pure love and compassion - Adam took Billy home.
