A film by Ian Hutton and Jennifer Lavers.

On a remote island in the Tasman sea, off the east coast of the Australian mainland, research scientist Dr. Jennifer Lavers studies the effects of micro pieces of plastic on the wildlife.  Lord Howe Island was declared a World Heritage site in 1982 for its unique beauty and diversity, remarkable geology, and rare bird, plant and marine life. Yet, its beaches are littered with plastic pollution. In this video, Dr. Lavers focuses her study on the Flesh-footed shearwater birds, known to eat large quantities of plastic. Take a look at the amount of plastic she finds in one small chick.
