One in five children in the U.S. have signs of a mental disorder; over 662,000 children in the U.S. are in foster care; and there has been a 274% increase in the use of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder drugs globally. Clearly, something is amiss in our society.  Clinical psychologist Dr. Shepali Tsabary suggests that we hurt our children unconsciously because we, ourselves, are hurting. In this TEDx talk, Dr. Shepali suggests that parental evolution is the key to conscious parenting and turns the notion of traditional parenting on its head by shifting the focus of the parent-child relationship from the parent-to-child "know-it-all" approach to a parent-with-child relationship in which the parent learns alongside the child.
