Micheal Stone is a Buddhist teacher, psychotherapist and activist who integrates spiritual practice with social engagement. In this TEDx talk, he asks us to re-examine what spiritual practice is and what it does in our era. We are living in a time when our ecosystems are falling apart. Human beings need a new operating system, and we only have a few decades to make some massive changes. What if we threw out the whole idea of spirituality and replaced it with a deeper connection to material life? Watch the full talk to find out the keys to a deeper materialism.

I did not find this particularly inspiring. The same message - reverence for the earth and each other can be found over and over throughout history, and practically all religions. This "Deeper Materialism" is not new...though perhaps it will "awaken" some people who would otherwise be striving for detachment from the material world.
