Born with a congenital bilateral hip dislocation, Viviana Guzmán was the worst case doctors had ever seen in her native Chile. Moving to the United States for better treatment, Viviana spent the first eleven years of her life in and out of hospitals, gripped in body casts. Using music as a healing tool, Viviana practiced and excelled on the flute. Her talent won her a scholarship to study at the Aspen Music Festival five years in a row! Now a successful recording artist, Viviana never let her medical condition bring her down. Instead, she utilized two keys to her success: a strong dedication to discipline, and keeping her thoughts positive. She uses her music as an example of taking difficult situations and turning them into gifts.
