Caring for the elderly can be challenging enough, but the difficulties increase when they have dementia. Judy Berry knew this too well, even before an incident when Judy’s dementia-stricken mother overdosed on medication. Determined to provide a better method of care, Berry founded Lakeview Ranch Inc., a long-term residential facility for people with dementia. Moreover, she established the Dementia Care Foundation to help raise funding to support elders with dementia. Her incredible efforts are changing the lives of people with dementia to live without vulnerability but with respect and dignity.
