Annette March-Grier grew up surrounded by death, at her family's funeral home. Through her years as a bereavement counselor and registered nurse, she has met thousands of grieving families, especially children, struggling to cope with their loss. Since 2008, March-Grier's nonprofit, Roberta's house, has provided free grief support programs to over two thousand people, nearly half of them children. "Unresolved grief can cause people to go through life severely wounded." "Our goal is to help people understand that grief does not have to destroy them."
