"We often go chasing after ideals instead of accepting life in all its diversity." ~Mark Zumbühl, Pro Infirmis. In honor of the International Day of Persons With Disabilities in 2013, Pro Infirmis, a Swiss organization that works for the disabled, created a series of mannequins based on real people with physical disabilities. These mannequins were then dressed in the latest fashions and displayed in the windows of shops in a popular downtown shopping street in Zurich. Watch the reactions of both the models and passers-by.

The tears that I cried streamed down over smiling lips. I can't find the words to explain how moved I am. I worked as a model in my youth and was paid money to stand in windows a few times as a live mannequin. I walked runways and posed for photos. So mundane, blah. THIS, these courageous people capture the true essence of perfect beauty, together with the artists. A wonderful accomplishment.
