Scientist, environmentalist and broadcaster David Suzuki points out the fallacy of conventional economics - a belief that there are no limits to growth – and makes an emotional appeal to economists to include the biosphere and life itself in their economic models. Much of what we value as human beings - the ozone, deep underground aquifers, topsoil - are considered "externalities" by economists. Nature performs vital services for the health of the planet and for people - we are all interconnected and interdependent.
