When Olayami Dabls wanted to become an artist, all he was taught was European art - no one knew anything about African art. It was then, that he decided to open a museum for African art. Through his MBAD's African Bead Museum and outdoor installations, Dabls seeks to tell the story of Africa in a modern way, taking traditional ideas and putting them in a new form.
