There are an estimated 30,000 child soldiers in the Democratic Republic of Congo, many of whom are unable to return to their families after they have been demobilized from rebel armies. Transition is difficult, but one program, Capoeira for Peace, is using a form of Brazilian martial arts to help these children reintegrate back into their communities. Capoeria is not only a physical exercise but a tool to liberate the mind.
