"Laugh Clown Laugh" offers a portrait of Berlin-based clown Reinhard "Filou" Horstkotte. The role of the clown, for Reinhard, is not just to entertain, but to explore the whole human being from dignity to playfulness. Playing the clown invites him to enter his own poetic space. It offers freedom to solve problems and overcome difficulties, allowing him to be silly, and sad as well as funny. Although he loves to make people laugh, he knows there is much more to being a clown than laughter.
