When Tara Baldwin's brother was killed in combat in 2011, he left behind two young children. That night, 29 other men lost their lives as well, leaving behind a total of 40 kids. To honor her brother, Baldwin founded Operation 300 to support families with children, like her niece and nephew, who are left to live with grief. Operation 300’s weekend retreats offer a chance for kids to do activities they would have done with their fathers with other supportive role models. What starts as a mentorship role develops into long-lasting relationships and a meaningful way to give back.
