As a special educator teaching carpentry classes, Richard Bienvenue worked with many troubled teenage boys. Motivated by their struggles, he started Our House, a residential setting where struggling teens learn trades, complete their high school degree and receive the needed emotional support to obtain success in their lives. Many of the youth involved with Our House come from foster care or the court system. Our House provides second chances to young men who were without hope. While creating their own lives these young men also generously give back to their community. Our House is a testament to hope and the power of community.
