Yans Gangadharan, founder, and president of the Right to Learn project saw children running around barefoot and not attending school in a small neighborhood of her community in Malaysia. She began simply with the idea to teach literacy. She found a space and put up signs on a board; soon after, 50 kids were knocking on the door. The Right to Learn Project was born. Now, with the help of volunteers, the organization has helped over 200 children not only to read but to excel in their lives.
