A film by Our Better World.

In 2013 Jocelyn Suarez was a 23 year old nurse taking an antibiotic for a simple infection. She soon learned that "life is irrevocably short and ultimately fragile." Suarez had an allergic reaction and contracted Stevens-Johnson syndrome, a condition that destroys your outer layer of skin. Suarez received treatment at a burn center and went into a coma that lasted three weeks. Learning that Suarez was largely financially responsible for her family, with mounting bills and lost work, her best friends knew they had to do something to help. A team of performance artists were assembled who put together a fundraiser to help care for Suarez and her siblings. Suarez awoke to learn "the power of... community." Today Suarez has fully recovered. She tells people "No matter how bad it gets... somebody will always love you. Somebody will always be there for you. So you should never, ever, ever stop loving them back."
