What is a "global citizen"? According to Hugh Evans, founder of an organization of the same name, a global citizen is not someone who thinks of themselves as a member of a state, tribe or nation, but as a member of the human race. In this TED talk, Evans shares the story of the founding of Global Citizen, starting with the first "Make Poverty History" concert in Melbourne, Australia, to coincide with the G20 summit of finance ministers and central bank governors. Global Citizen finds, supports and activates global citizens to use their collective power to affect political change.
