In an area of Indonesia where fear of other religions has caused pervasive intolerance, a student exchange program, Sabang Merauke, is working to build tolerance and respect across religions and cultures. Students from remote areas are matched with host families of a different religion in Jakarta for a stay of two to three weeks. The students and host families learn mutual tolerance as they accept each other as they are and come to respect and appreciate their differences. The sharing of meals, a living space, and daily life, go a long way towards building lasting connections. In the words of one young participant, "Tolerance should not just be spoken but should also be felt." Witness the blossoming of tolerance in this inspiring video.
