Sometimes, animals need a little help. In Mosha’s case, her friends at the Asian Elephant Hospital in Thailand, the first animal hospital dedicated solely to elephants, stepped in. When Mosha the elephant was two years old, she lost her leg in a landmine injury. Thanks to orthopedic surgeon Dr. Therdchai Jivacate, she is the recipient of the first-ever elephant prosthetic leg. While the leg needs to be fixed every few years, since Mosha has been growing, they are constantly working to make it better and stronger each time, hoping to make it last longer and longer to reduce the replacements needed. Mosha can lead a happy, normal life and is able to get around like any other elephant can thanks to the leg.

It was man who destroyed the elephant's leg and it was a very special man who helped her walk with four legs again.
