"Peace is a process." This was one of the core messages delivered by United States President John F. Kennedy in this 1963 speech at the American University in Washington, DC. Kennedy told us that to achieve world peace we must all work together, and keep working. "Genuine peace must be the product of many nations, the sum of many acts." No one can inflict peace on another. No one can force others to live in peace. It is a daily choice, a daily commitment, that we all must make.
