Over 22 billion dollars worth of edible, prepared, food is wasted every year in the United States. Raj Karmani, the Founder of Zero Percent, created a technological solution to reduce food waste by combining a matchmaking platform with a logistics application to get fresh food quickly from food operators and restaurants to local nonprofits. Since its launch, Zero Percent has facilitated the delivery of more than 1 million meals to over 380 nonprofits in the Chicago area.
