Most of us want to do the right thing when it comes to the environment. But things aren’t as simple as opting for the paper bag, says sustainability strategist Leyla Acaroglu. Acaroglu's TED talk is a bold call for us to let go of tightly-held green myths and think bigger in order to create systems and products that ease strain on the planet. Designing products with a holistic view is the need of the hour and Acaroglu explains why and how they have been doing it.

  • Spend some time this week to see how you can redesign things in your life to be more environmentally sustainable, from simple things like walking/carpooling to following the 5Rs.
  • Life cycle analysis isn't easy, but try to look at the bigger picture before you buy your next gadget or even your groceries. :) It will make you a conscious consumer. 
  • Start composting your food & garden waste at home. There are several ways to compost at home. Find a composter that works best for you & start doing that this week.
