No matter your political views, the 2016 election and the years following have resulted in a great deal of interest in the political atmosphere of our nation. Katie Boland, a teacher at Trumbull High School, teaches a class called “We The People: The Citizen and the Constitution,” which is a national program in which students compete by answering Constitution-based questions. The program includes a state and national level competition. Under Boland’s leadership, the school has won the state title multiple times and has also won awards on the national level. Boland’s students say that her passion inspires them to learn more about the Constitution, to be engaged in politics, and to encourage their parents to be involved. This one teacher's passion and dedication has had a deep and lasting impact on her students.

I think this is an awesome "good news" video - our young people are the new voters, and it's great to know that they are interested in learning how our constitution works. My hope is that the young people will change the world in a positive way with their passion, knowledge, and vote. Thank you Ms. Boland for teaching your students how to be strong leaders.
