The founders of Girl Trek speak with passion about mobilizing African American women and girls to reclaim their health and communities through walking. Following in the tradition of their ancestors and of the Civil Rights Movement, they have launched a national health movement. Girl Trek is a lifeline for Black women, who are dying faster and at higher rates than any other group of people in America. Walking is a powerful thing women can do for their health; walking just 30 minutes per day can reduce by 50% the risk of heart attack, diabetes, and stroke. The presenters "believe that women walking and talking together is a global solution."
