The small country of Bhutan has redefined the meaning of development, taking a more holistic and sustainable approach which balances material and non-material values with the conviction that humans want to search for happiness. The focus on Gross National Happiness (rather than Gross National Product) is the organic development, well-being and happiness not only of humans but of all living beings.
