Poet and artist Cleo Wade shares heartfelt advice for living in a challenging world in this moving and compelling TED talk. Intended as welcoming words of wisdom for her friend’s new baby, Wade offers ways to stay positive and make a difference. “The world will say to you, ‘There is so much hate.’ Devote yourself to love. Love yourself so much that you can love others without barriers and without judgment. . . . Change-making does not belong to one group of people; it belongs to all of us. You don't have to wait on anyone to tell you that you are in this. Begin. Start by doing what you can with what you've got, where you are and in your own way. We don't have to be heroes, wear a uniform, call ourselves activists or get elected to participate. We just have to be brave enough to care.”
