John Malloy, director, trainer, and keeper of the sacred running staffs, started with the 500 Mile American Indian Spiritual Marathon in 1980, two years after Dennis Banks founded the run to commemorate the Longest Walk. In this interview, he describes the runners’ commitment to protecting Mother Earth and human lives, how the run started, the training required, and the impact on elders and youth in forging friendships and extended family. John says, “When generations connect, violence subsides. We stop…trouble with a lot of love.”

I don't share a lot of stuff on facebook, so when I share something, I hope my "friends" realise that it might be a bit of value to me and maybe to them, i.e., worthy of posting. I appreciate that you at karmatube are trying to make a better world by providing the opportunity for "high value" stories. Hope it makes a difference for someone! (emoji omitted) Thanks. Jim H
