Music has a unique ability to promote harmony where there once was discord. The Chennai Children's Choir in Southern India, established by the Nalandaway Foundation, exemplifies this power of music by bringing together children from diverse marginalized communities to surmount their differences through a shared passion and gift for music. Children are consciously chosen from the poorest communities and given the opportunity to grow in their musical expertise.
