Jo Berry’s father was killed by a bomb set by members of the Irish Republican Army. Berry sought to find a way to bring something positive from her father's death. Years later, she met Patrick Magee, the man responsible for killing her father. Berry and Magee were able to come to a place of understanding of each other’s stories and backgrounds and found a sense of peace and humanity. As a result of her experiences, Berry started a charity called Building Bridges for Peace, which aims to help divided communities and the public to prevent war and violence and seek peace through dialogue and mediation.
