"Whenever I look at these kids, it reminds me of me." Bamuwayira Ahmed has a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo but he was not always such a powerful, confident person. Ahmed was picked on as a small, timid child until, inspired by a Bruce Lee movie, he discovered martial arts. Now he shares that inner strength with the youth of the Acholi Quarters. One of the biggest slums in Kampala, Acholi Quarters is home to over 10,000 refugees, displaced by Civil War. The area is plagued by cholera and malaria. Few homes have electricity and fewer have running water. But Ahmed gives their children self esteem, confidence, and hope.
