Most of us have seen dogs at work. Some help people with disabilities. Some help detect illegal drugs. Some help police officers fight crime. In this TED talk we learn that dogs can do much more for us (and some are perhaps a little too eager to help.) Working Dogs for Conservation finds unwanted shelter dogs and trains them to perform a wide range of services including preventing poaching, eliminating invasive species, and monitoring endangered wildlife populations. These dogs may not have made good house pets but with a little coaching they are making the world a better place.
