This animated short film features the poet Eduardo Galeano reading "Los Nadie" (The Nobodies) from "El libro de los abrazos" (The Book of Embraces) for the NGO Africa Directo. Let this story wash over you, no matter what language you speak. Listen with your heart rather than your ears. What do you hear about hope, that elusive promise of something better, something more?

The helpless situation of rural/ tribal communities and heartless exploitation by the power

This came after watching a PBS program on Pompei and the extended level of enslavement (more than 50% of the population) that was part of that ancient society. Seems treating humans less than human (like a number) reaches all the way back to ancient times. And yet, we still mustn't accept it. We must fight for the 'nameless' in every conceivable way. This is a reminder that this human created problem is still begging for a solution. Beautifully done!

It is beautifully done, but so terribly, terribly sad, because it is so true.
