Once a victim of domestic abuse, twenty-nine year old Tara Tonini is now Program Director and yoga teacher for Exhale to Inhale, a nonprofit that provides free trauma-informed yoga classes to other victims of domestic abuse. Yoga, says Tara, allowed her to feel like she was coming back to “the real me.” Now bringing this experience to others like herself, Tara is sharing a tool more powerful in healing trauma than medications—and empowering survivors to regain control over their own lives, one breath at a time.
