A church-based youth group in Michigan decided to commit anonymous acts of kindness, and learned a lot about themselves in the process. Using $100 from a church fund, they went to pizza parlors, gas stations and other local retail establishments, where they would give small sums of money to the cashiers, asking that the money be applied to the next person's purchase. The generosity was often greeted by stunned silence by many of the recipients. What was even more surprising to some of the youth was the impact this unconditional giving had on them individually.
