You can tell by the speakers facial expression and his tone of voice that he's sincere. His story rings so true. Maybe we should try to fight all wars with music instead of guns.

  • Jane Silverman

This man's eyes that show he is still courageous. He allowed good sense to conquer his own fear so he could dis-arm his enemy without a weapon. We could use a few like him in Congress right now.

Lord with you,or the Christ is among us.Spirit of God,in Bible through Isaiah 12,those whose minds and hearts absorbed and accepted the word of Lord, speaking this:“On that day you will say:“I thank you, ADONAI,because, although you were angry at me,your anger is now turned away;and you are comforting me.2 “See! God is my salvation.I am confident and unafraid;for Yah ADONAI is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation!”3 Then you will joyfully draw water from the springs of salvation.4 On that day you will say,“Give thanks to ADONAI!Call on his name!Make his deeds known among the peoples, declare how exalted is his name.5 Sing to ADONAI,for he has triumphed —this is being made known throughout the earth.6 Shout and sing for joy,you who live in Tziyon;for the Holy One of Isra’el is with you in his greatness!”May the Lord protect and bless you,let the God give you peace, and all the best may the Lord gives to you,I wish this to you such what I am.Healthy, alive and well be.Glory to Lord and Christ.Jesus loves you,God bless you.

.War is cruel, it only left sadness. It reminds me of a dialog,“The enemy? His sense of duty was no less than yours, I deem. You wander what his name is, where he came from, and if he was really evil at heart. What lies or threats led him on this long march from home.If he would not rather have stayed there...in peace. War will make corpses of us all.” Why does war exist?

  • Nancy

God works in each of to the greater good. If we will only listen and use our gifts. We can each make a small change in the this broken world.

It's not the men fighting on the battle fields that need to be influenced. It's our leaders who wage these wars. The men out there are all scared and lonely. The leaders are at home with their families, warm and safe. How do we get them to hear the music?

  • Vivian Lance

The humanity of it. If most of those men could have met man to man...there would be no war. This is a perfect axample.

  • Philip Riley

I have been struggling myself, wondering whether music is worth my time, if it will support me financially, if it matters at all. And in this case, it literally saved people's lives. That means it is the most powerful thing in the world. Thank you.

Yes, the power of music. But the music was the vehicle for the musician's compassion for the German soldier. Jack realized that he and the German soldiers were in the same shoes.

I was struck that in the military Mr Tueller could think for himself and recognize that when it comes down to it, we all have fear, and we all want to love and be loved...and we all want to live.

I love this story. It certainly proves that music speaks to everyone's heart. Wouldn't it be great if the German soldier survived the war and receives Karma Tube too and sees this story? I wonder about his life and how that night shaped it.

The thought that the trumpeter chose a love song and played it from his heart. And what comes from the heart reaches the heart, for music is the language of the heart.

  • Kati

    This brought me to tears. I wonder if . . . .

  • Quynh

Music is indeed very powerful. It evokes emotions that can not be expressed through words. When I play the piano, I play my emotions of the moment, pressing down each key to release every sadness, tension, joy, fear, etc. A happy song is never the same as the next happy song. Most importantly, the song is never finished until it consumes my entire mind, body, and soul—ultimately leaving me at ease It's taking in a deep breath and releasing it slowly. It's inspiring. That is the power of music.
